Dr Bookallil completed her medical degree at the University of New South Wales in 1997, her Masters of Public Health and Tropical Medicine in 2005 through James Cook University and is a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (2002) and the Australasian Faculty of Public Health Medicine (2007). She spent an extensive amount of time in the Northern Territory. Dr Bookallil’s special interests include aboriginal health and diabetes management.
